If this house looks familiar to you, you’re not alone.
This Cleveland house on West 11th is from the 1983 Bob Clark directed movie, A Christmas Story, taglined “A Tribute to the Original, Traditional, One-Hundred-Percent, Red-Blooded, Two-Fisted, All-American Christmas…”.
That’s right, while the setting of the movie is in Indiana, this Cleveland home and neighborhood was chosen for it’s ‘middle American’ feel. While the inside of the house was too small to use in filming (it was rebuilt on a soundstage in Canada) the outside of the house, the backyard, and one scene inside was used for the film.
This house is now open for tours complete with gift shop across the street. We had a great time on our visit and admission is only $7.50. See website for info
