Obama Makes Labor Day Visit To Ohio
Quinnipiac University reported in July that its polling showed that some 46 percent approved of the job he was doing, compared to 57 percent a month earlier. Polling indicated Obama’s approval rating in the state had fallen below 50 percent.Cincinnati’s a town full of backwards rednecks. And Obama’s approval rating there is at freakin 46% That’s a fairly impressive number really. Why is the media on about his approval rating as if no one likes him anymore?
Bush’s approval ratings were considerably lower. In fact the historical average approval rating for all presidents shows that Obama’s faring quite well really, and that 46 is somewhat average.
I don’t think its quite fair to call Cincy a backward redneck town. And while ‘backward redneck’ more often equates to Republican votes, it doesn’t always. Cincinnati is a more conservative town but things have tilted some. Mark Mallory is a Democrat, and Hamilton County, the city center, went blue for Obama in 08. If you look at all the Ohio counties, the majority of them show red, aside from a handful of them that ‘count’ when it comes to national politics. I’m not surprised by that downward trend in ratings either, b/c it seems thats happening all over, and at the national level. Obama was in Cincinnati just a few days before the election working to seal the deal here and surprisingly Ohio went blue after voting 8 years of Bush and I was happy Hamilton County/Cincinnati helped in those efforts. I think we’re coming along slowly but surely.
I def don’t identify with the backward rednecks though I’m sure some of them are nice folks!
IDK why the media is so tuned into the approval ratings either. It’s too soon!
And THAT, is how an Ohioan retorts an accusation.
